Since it's on a terraced hill, there is a public road and a passage behind the gate lead to the house,
stairs lead people up to the terrace level as shown in the parti below.

Below I try to use different darkness to define the enclosure in between inside and outside,
eventough it is a very small apartment , I can see that Eileen Gray define the space by difference layers which easy to understood the function of the space and gave adequate privacy.
The massing of the house is also divide into 3 different level from outside,semi-public & inside.

further down there, the privacy of inside and outside is similar to the enclosure in this villa as it is clearly defined different us and degree of enclosure of the space.
The geometry I see is basically rectangular shapes as the walls inside the house leads the circulation of whole, and rarely we can see curve walls in Tempe a Pailla ,therefore,I concluded geometry as in rectangular .

When talking about the structure of the open plan design .
The basic component makes up with columns and load bearing walls , there is also a retaining wall at the back courtyard.
The first parti drawing is try to show how important the combination of structure in this house, the windows takes up the important role with the combination of the walls.

As mention earlier, the space in this house is clearly define, yet, each space is connected in a way that is related to each other,I would say it's more like "interlocking " each space.
below parti shows the function and the proximities of the program.

make it more clear, I draw the circulation into 2 parts, the first one showing the courtyard space wehre the second one showing the covered space. When you look at the 2 part diagrams at the same time , you could see how you walk through the house from outside ->inside -> outside ,or actually you are part of the outside.

This is how I treat the house as a gift and understand it.In addition,I also draw the Elevations of Tempe a Pailla to have a better understanding of the whole idea
